The prices displayed on this website and in stores are quoted in South African Rand, which is valid and effective only in relation to supply in South Africa.
Prices may vary from time to time and are subject to change without prior notification.
Tokkara Living cannot guarantee stock levels of products displayed on this website and stock is therefore subject to availability.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

ORDERS

  • The customer will be provided with a quotation for all custom-made timber/metal products, upholstered products and back orders (collectively special orders).
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to verify the correctness of all information and specifications and confirm acceptance by signing the quote.
  • A deposit of at least 75% in advance is required on all special orders before production will commence and which is subject to forfeiture if the order is cancelled at any time.
  • The order becomes binding as soon as we have received your deposit.
  • No special orders will be subject to return, exchange or refund.
  • Balance is due upon completion and before delivery or collection.
  • It is acknowledged that products that are subject to special orders may vary from samples or product displayed in store due to variances in colour, texture and composition of materials and will be so accepted by the customer.

 COLOURS, FINISHES & SIZE VARIANCES

  • The display pieces in our showrooms are representative of the finished product. Whilst every effort will be made to match all colours and finishes, goods are supplied on the understanding that there may be slight shade and grain variations.
  • Leather products are made from quality hides and may not be uniform in colour or texture and may show natural marks.
  • Solid Timber products may have natural markings, cracks and colour variations due to the nature of the product, these are considered the characteristics of a natural product and not defects or signs of damage
  • Metal, aluminium and metal plated products may have natural markings, scratches, holes and dents due to the nature of the product, these are considered the characteristics of a natural product and not defects or signs of damage.
  • The colour, texture and composition of fabrics may vary from swatch or product displayed due to dye lot variations and upholstery processes.

 METHOD OF PAYMENT

  • We accept cash, credit & debit cards and EFT payments.
  • Full payment of the price and delivery charges (where applicable) is required before products will be delivered to or collected by customer.
  • For EFT payments, products will only be released for delivery or collection once payment reflect on the Tokkara Living bank statement.
  • The product remains the property of Tokkara Living until payment is made in full.
  • Invoices must be retained as proof of purchase and payment.
  • Store credits must be redeemed within six months of the credit date received.

 DELIVERY

  • All delivery charges are quoted in store at time of purchase depending on the area in which you reside.
  • Upon completion of your order, you will be notified and an agreed delivery time will be booked. Circumstances that are unforeseen or beyond Tokkara Living’s control may result in changes to the agreed delivery date and time of which the customer will be telephonically informed and alternative arrangements will be made.
  • The customer is required to inspect the products on delivery and must note on the POD any shortfalls or visible damage (do not sign it as unchecked), as we cannot accept liability for any damage reported to us at a later date. Unless indicated to the contrary on the POD, it will be deemed that the product has been delivered and received in good condition and where appropriate, in accordance with the customer’s specifications.
  • All delivery dates quoted at the time of your order are estimates. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that we honour estimated delivery dates, it is possible that circumstances beyond our control may cause delivery dates to be changed.
  • Tokkara Living will endeavour to place the goods in the desired location, provided there is reasonable access. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product can be delivered into their home and into their chosen location. It is essential therefore that you discuss any possible restrictions on access into your home. You should think in particular about vehicle access, lifts, tight corners and stairs etc.
  • If windows or doors need to be removed to gain access or any hoisting is required, it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange this at their own cost.
  • The customer will be charged additional delivery costs due to failed deliveries, access problems and / or failure to adhere to the appointment time for the delivery / collection.
  • We do not deliver on weekends and public holidays. Deliveries may only be scheduled between 9:00 and 16:00 on weekdays unless special arrangements are made.

COLLECTION

  • The customer or the person collecting must present the original invoice at time of collection.
  • The person producing the invoice shall be deemed to be duly authorised agent of the customer. Unless indicated to the contrary on the collection note it is deemed that the product has been collected and received in good condition.
  • Tokkara Living shall not be liable for any damages that may occur after the products have been handed to the customer.
  • It’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure a suitable collection vehicle and supply the required consumables to accommodate the product and to prevent any damages.

WARRANTY

  • A warranty will only be honour if,
    • The defect exists at time of delivery and manifest during the warranty period,
    • The defect did not arise due to normal wear and tear or misuse/ abuse by the customer,
    • The customer duly complied with care instructions,
    • The customer provides the original invoice.
  • The warranty is non- transferable.
  • Tokkara Living cannot be held liable for any damages to products that were assembled incorrectly by the customer.
  • The warranty only covers flaws in workmanship or material and does not cover defects due to customer negligence, abuse, or misuse including but not limited to improper maintenance, exposure to natural elements, chemicals, accidents and any use for which the product was not designed or ordinary wear and tear.
  • Any showroom display models or items bought on sale or promotion are sold as “voetstoots” and are therefore not covered by any warranty.
  • Upholstered furniture is warranted for a period of 2 years from the date of delivery / collection in respect of the frame and craftsmanship and exclude fabric or leather used as this is subject to wear and tear. Furthermore, usage and treatment in the customer’s environment is beyond Tokkara Living’s control.
  • Leather furniture: Tick bites and scratches that may appear on our full grain product will be noticeable and may not be avoided. These are natural inherent features of the product and are not a form of defect or damage.
  • Imported products are warranted for a period of 1 year from delivery/collection date in respect of frame and workmanship. If the original product is altered in any way, the warranty is void.
  • Timber products are warranted for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery/collection in respect of frame and workmanship. If the original product is altered in any way, the warranty is void.

STORAGE FACILITIES

  • TokkaraLiving does not offer any storage facilities.
  • Products must be collected within 10 days after been notified that the product is available for collection or delivery.
  • In the event that items are not collected and delivered within the specified time frame a storage fee will be charged. This storage fee must be settled in full prior to delivery and release of the product.

GENERAL CARE

  • No responsibility will be accepted by Tokkara Living for damage caused by cleaning if the care and maintenance instructions have not been followed.

APPROS

  • Appros of smaller décor items will be authorised at the showroom manager discretion.
  • All appros must be paid in full before collection.
  • Any appro not returned within 48 hours will be considered sold.
  • A credit will be passed only once goods have been returned in their original condition accompanied with the proof of purchase.
  • All returned appros are subject to a handling charge of 20% of original purchase price including delivery fees (where applicable) to cover any relevant and associated costs.

EXCHANGE, RETURNS AND REFUNDS

  • Tokkara Living reserve the right to accept or cancel any orders.
  • Any damaged or flawed products may be returned in an unused condition within 10 days of purchase or delivery together with the proof of purchase. Product exchanges requiring delivery will be transported to the original delivery address.
  • Exchanges are subject to product availability at the time for the request to exchange.
  • A handling fees may be applicable on exchange / returns.
  • The product may be exchanged for other items or a credit will be given as no refunds are given.
  • No special orders will be subject to exchange/return or refund unless the product is defective.

 

GENERAL

Unless any applicable law prescribes otherwise, any agreement made with Tokkara Living to buy a product or a connected service, shall be governed by the law applicable to the jurisdiction in which an offer to buy a product is accepted.
